About

Melodic Movement is the name and website for Adam Roth’s professional activities, including guitar instruction, music performances, and lessons in the Feldenkrais Method®.

Adam Roth lives and works in Chicago’s western suburbs. He teaches guitar privately from his home studio in Lisle, as well as at several locations in Hinsdale. He is also an adjunct faculty at Joliet Junior College, where he teaches applied guitar lessons and music history. Additionally, he teaches Feldenkrais lessons privately from his home, and performs guitar music at weddings, churches, and events throughout the region.

Adam received his Master of Music degree from Northern Illinois University, where he studied classical guitar with Fareed Haque. While attending NIU, he was a Graduate Assistant for music theory and aural skills (ear training).

Also while at Northern Illinois University, Adam discovered the Feldenkrais Method, taking a class in Awareness through Movement from Steve Duke. He subsequently enrolled in a Professional Feldenkrais Practitioner Training Program, and graduated the 4-year, 800-hour program in the fall of 2006.

Adam is married, with a house, two daughters, and a dog. Prior to his life as a musician and Feldenkrais Practitioner, Adam received a B.A. in Physics from Northwestern University, travelled to the South Pole, worked for a defense contractor and made lasers for the government.
